Hi! My name is Makayla, and I am one of the Senior Therapists at bitKIDS. I am also a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)/Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA). I have been working within the field since 2020, where I have been supporting and working with children with autism and other developmental needs. Throughout my undergrad, I stumbled across Applied Behaviour Analysis and became captivated by the possibility of individualized teaching and supporting the development of new and existing skills. After my undergrad, I completed the Autism and Behavioural Science postgraduate certificate at Mohawk College and a Masters of Applied Disability Studies specializing in Applied Behaviour Analysis at Brock University.
I enjoy supporting and empowering parents through Project ImPACT. I love getting to know the children and meeting them where they are. My goal as a clinician is to consider each person’s strengths and challenges, come alongside them and provide compassion, empathy, dignity and respect. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time outside in the garden, painting, drawing, reading or baking.
