Free Resources for Online Training

Our University of Waterloo co-op student, Meaghan Alves, has been maximizing her time between supporting clients and staff projects with some great online learning opportunities that are available to professionals, parents and frontline staff.
After completing the 40hr ABA Foundational Training Course by Alphabee Pro and funder by the MCCSS Workforce Capacity Fund, I came across other free online courses provided by the same institution. One that particularly caught my eye was the “How to Increase Play and Engagement in Children with Autism” course. Many of these courses are not only open to professionals but also to parents and caregivers. This course taught me a lot about the process of pairing and the importance of play. Using playtime is a great way to embed learning into a fun and interactive environment while strengthening bonds. This course goes over how to increase the attention of your child. I enjoyed the tools it provides regarding maintaining engagement and improving playtime for your child. I would recommend this course to any professionals, parents and caregivers who are interested in improving playtime and engagement with their learner.
We are so lucky to have Meaghan as part of our bitKIDS Team!
