About Me

I’m Corinna Bittle, a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. I work with kids, most of whom have autism or related exceptionalities, and their families. I do this using Applied Behaviour Analysis.

I work with kids because I love them. Simple as that. During my Master’s in Developmental Psychology, I worked with great kids who made fantastic gains using ABA. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to learn as much as I can about the field of ABA and how to apply what I have learned to the great kids and families that I meet.

My Philosophy

As a parent, I understand that family life can be hectic. This is why I like to get into a child’s home and see what is going on to come up with real life solutions. I want to meet you where you live and where you spend your time. I want to make things easy for you and I want to see your children at their best and at their worst.

I create plans that suit both your child’s needs and your goals. You want to be able to grocery shop with your child? Okay, let’s make a plan for that! You want to teach your child to ask for help (instead of crying when she is frustrated)? Great, let’s do it! You want to prepare your child for school? Get him ready for SLP sessions? Prepare for a flight to visit Grandma? Start an IBI program? I can create a plan customized to what you need and want.

I will be honest with you. I will tell you my professional opinion. I will work hard with you and for you. Sometimes it will be easy. Often it won’t be. But we can work at it together. I can be your advocate and your cheerleader. I will be as excited as you for each milestone that your child reaches. I will help you to help your child, to push your child, and to have fun with your child bit by bit.

A bit about me

I’m a Mom of 2 (usually sweet!) little girls. I grew up in St. Catharines, but my heart is in Waterloo with my family of 4. I love getting out of the house, into the fresh air, and away from the mess that we make of our home every day. I love to cuddle the kids on the couch, read them a story, put them to bed, and ignore the remnants of dinner and the stray breakfast cheerio that may still be on the floor while I relax with my hubby.

I have a Joint Honours degree in Psychology and Social Development Studies and a Masters in Developmental Psychology, both from the University of Waterloo. I am also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). In order to receive this certification, I was required to complete coursework in the area of Applied Behaviour Analysis (Penn State), spend 1500 hours being supervised by a BCBA, and pass a Board Exam.

The value of hiring a BCBA

Being a BCBA means a few things. I report to a board, practice according to the board’s code of ethics, and participate in continuing education to maintain my certification.

It also means that I am required to provide services that are backed by research, to only provide services within my area of supervised experience, and I use ABA to shape socially significant behaviours.
