Building Community, One Project at a Time: Thank You, Lucas

Volunteer Thank You

At bitKIDS, we often talk about the importance of community—how meaningful change happens when people bring their skills, time, and heart together. Today, we’re incredibly grateful to recognize someone who has done exactly that: Lucas Bernhard of Post Structures.

A Skilled Trades Journey in Action

Lucas is currently completing the final in-school portion of his Conestoga College General Carpenter Apprenticeship

What makes Lucas’s contribution so special is that he has chosen to extend that learning beyond the classroom—bringing his developing expertise into our clinic space to benefit our clients and team.

Giving Back Through Skill and Dedication

During the classroom portion of his apprenticeship, Lucas generously volunteered his time to support maintenance and equipment installation within our space. His work has helped enhance both the functionality and safety of our environment—something that directly impacts the children and families we serve every day.

From thoughtful repairs to careful installation of equipment, Lucas approached each task with professionalism, attention to detail, and a genuine willingness to help.

Lucas’s contributions are a reminder that skilled trades are not just about building structures—they’re about building communities.

We are so thankful for Lucas’s time, generosity, and growing expertise. Supporting a student during their apprenticeship journey is always meaningful—but being supported by one is something truly special.

Interested in supporting our space or contributing your skills? We’d love to connect—community partnerships make all the difference.
