A Flexible Starting Point for Families

At bitKIDS, all ongoing one-to-one ABA services begin with an individualized assessment. During an ABA assessment, we use a variety of assessment tools that help us understand a learner’s strengths, needs, and priorities so that recommendations and programming can be tailored to support meaningful progress.

For some families, however, an assessment may also be valuable as a standalone service before committing to ongoing therapy. Whether you are exploring service options, preparing for an upcoming DON meeting, or looking for professional recommendations, an ABA Assessment can provide clear guidance and next steps.

What Is Included?

Our ABA Assessment process may include:

  • One to two direct assessment sessions (approximately three hours each)
  • Parent and/or teacher interviews
  • Relevant observations and information gathering
  • A comprehensive written report with recommendations
  • A review meeting to discuss findings and answer questions
  • Custom program development if ongoing services are pursued

Why Consider a Standalone Assessment?

A standalone ABA Assessment can help families:

  • Better understand their child’s current strengths and support needs
  • Identify meaningful goals and priorities
  • Obtain professional recommendations before starting services
  • Prepare for funding or planning meetings
  • Make informed decisions about next steps

The assessment report can also provide recommendations regarding:

  • The appropriate number of ABA service hours based on identified needs
  • The types of services that may be most beneficial (e.g., direct therapy, caregiver coaching, consultation, group programs, school support)
  • Priority skill areas for intervention
  • Strategies to support a smooth transition into an individualized ABA treatment plan if ongoing services are pursued

This information can help families confidently plan services and allocate funding resources where they are likely to have the greatest impact.

Assessment Intake Process
